How I Can Help
Therapy focuses on building skills that are meaningful in your child’s everyday life- supporting their independence, participation, and confidence at home, in learning environments, and in the community.
Families seek support at different stages. Some may have early questions or concerns about their child’s development, while others may already have a clearer understanding of their child’s needs. Support is tailored to meet you where you are at.
-
Sessions take place in the environments where your child naturally spends their time, including:
Home
Childcare or kindergarten
School
Community settings
Working in these real-life contexts allows therapy to be practical, relevant, and easier to carry over into daily routines.
-
This service is suited for young children who may benefit from support with their development, including those who:
Are finding some aspects of everyday life more challenging than expected
Would benefit from extra support to build skills, confidence, or independence
Need a more individualised, flexible, or responsive approach to therapy
Lauren has extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of developmental and behavioural needs. Many families seek out this service when they are looking for thoughtful, tailored support that is responsive to their child over time.
-
Supporting parents is an important part of this service.
In addition to working directly with your child, parent coaching sessions are available to build an understanding of your child’s strengths and areas of difficult and develop practical strategies to support your child at home and in daily routines.
These sessions are collaborative, supportive, and designed to help you feel more confident in how to support your child.
-
Some families may be recommended to work with a Key Worker as part of early childhood support.
A Key Worker is a therapist who works closely with your family to coordinate support, build your understanding of your child’s needs, and provide practical strategies that can be used in everyday life. This approach focuses on working through one main therapist, rather than multiple separate services.
As an Occupational Therapist with experience in early intervention, I am able to work in a Key Worker role where appropriate.
This means I can:
Support your child’s development directly through therapy
Work closely with you to build confidence and strategies at home
Coordinate with other professionals involved in your child’s care
Depending on your child’s needs, I may work with you as an Occupational Therapist, a Key Worker, or a combination of both.
This will be guided by what is most appropriate for your child and family.
